Since I've been home

I really haven't had much time to post, even though it really is more for myself than anything, about any of my work outs that I've been doing.
Aside from running my mile time in 8:45, I've been running with Mikey to help build her knee up. She ran a half a mile at the Marist track last Tuesday and then another half mile with me at the YMCA. Along with the running I've also been doing my body sculpting class with Mikey and Dante on Monday/Thursdays. On Thursday I really got what I was asking for from Reggie, the instructor. Mikey and I asked him if we could do more with our legs.
We did all kind of squats with weights, a lot of ab work such as the scissor kicks, etc. The real "kicker" is the lunges with 20 pounds on my shoulders all the way around the room. Oh and between each lung we did three calf raises. Fun, fun, fun. I was really sore on Friday morning.

I keep hoping that this is what I need to be focusing on....

Canada

So Teddy and I spent a week away from the world up in Canada. The temperature ranged from -10 to 5 degrees the entire time we were there.

Aside from that - I ran a mile yesterday in 8;45. I was pretty damn happy about that. Though I recommend not doing that before Body Sculpting.

Here are some photos of the trip. Oh and did I mention we got stuck in a blizzard?

I've been working out!

Regardless of the lack of posting, I've been working out! Trust me...My body feels it too.

Instead of Body Sculpting one night a week, I'm going twice a week - Mondays and Thursdays. Monday night was hard. We did the bridge, as shown in the photo work out your abs. Which trust me, it does. I still get the feeling that I may be doing it all wrong since its usually my arms that give out and not my core. Either way, it does work the abs, I can tell that much.
I've also noticed how much stronger my arms and legs are.. Always a good thing!I think two nights a week worth of this class and I should be in great shape come try outs!
Last night I went a did my normal routine - Weights and then the olypical.
However, I changed it up a bit - mainly because the machines were all full - but it worked out. I started off with the weights - lateral pull down, leg press, ab abduction, hip abduction, back extensions, ab crunch, chest press. I then went a did the olypical for my normal 27:44. The workout was great - ended up feeling really good.
So here is my bitching part of the Y - Right now its towards the end of January and there are a ton of people in there who are making open, empty promises to themselves that they are going to work out, get in shape, loose weight, etc. etc. So naturally you see a lot of different people in there. You see the fat people who come one time and you never see again, you see the older people who, at one time, was probably in great shape trying to come back to being that way - just adding 25+ years and then you see the girls...When I say girls, I do not mean the women or ladies that are in the gym who just had babies or are really there to better themselves, I'm talking about the girls under 18 who have no clue what to do and are only at the gym to meet some "Hot Hunk" with "a great bod". These stupid girls are the ones who have turned my work out from 45 minutes to 1hr and 15 minutes. Prime example - last night I had to do the weights first since all of the olypicals were taken - so I do my chest press, lateral pull down and get all the way to the hip abduction, ab abduction (same machine) and I have to weight. So I position myself in a triangle allowing me to see both sides of the room - the olypicals and the machine I need to use to finish my work out. I have my Ipod with me, so I'm listening to some tunes and before I know it - my 5 minute, totally awesome, rockin' Dave Matthews song ends and this one girl is still on the machine. It would be okay if this one girl on the machine was working out - but she hadn't done a single rep in the 5 minutes of my waiting. Grr.
So I turn my Ipod off, but keep my head phones in to make it look like I'm still listening to the music. They, the girl on the machine and the girl standing by the machine who is obviously her Friend, are talking about "The Hot new guy in Drama"....I wait, 3 minutes goes by, not one rep. So I leaned in and said, "Excuse me, but if you aren't going to do the work out, get off of the machines and let people who need to work out, work out." She looks at me, rather puzzled and says, "okie" and then starts doing the reps! Does one set and then lets her friend on to do her "work out". Gah! How fF*(&() annoying! So I wait and wait - no olypticals are open and the one machine I needed to use was still being occupied by these stupid, ugly, freckled faced, idiot, high school losers who wouldn't get the hot guy in drama even if they wanted. . . 15 minutes later, I have the machine. I do my work out in about 5 minutes and then go to the olypticals where everyone on them was a new face and had just started the work out......good thing the one guy was one of the "Fat" people (horrible, aren't I?) and he only used it for about 5 minutes before he looked like he was going to fall over in a new grave if he continued any longer....
Now I know, was totally a punk ass brat in this post about the "fat people", the "old people" and the stupid lame as brats who are annoying as hell, but I give them props - they are trying....
This one older lady in my body sculpting class is probably in her late 40's and she kicks the shit out of everyone there!!
Alright - I'm a Y junkie now - and I can totally feel it....

What the weekend can do...

This weekend was interesting mainly because a lot of things happened, but it didn't feel like I did much of anything.

I went and playing womens league on Saturday, which I have to admit I find repulsivley boring, and then went to go and set up for our Holiday Party. . .

Sunday consisted of much of nothing...

Good News!
I'm back down to 143! Who knew......

Going to the YMCA tonight!

A thing called "weight".

At one point in your life, whether when your old or young, you will at one time feel that you are too fat, weight to much or flat out just don't look the way you want.
That time in my life is now.

Over the past year I have gone from skinny little - 127 lb Samantha to a whopping 148 fat ass - blob and I look horrible. So, I've been going to the YMCA and if you've been reading, though I doubt anyone is reading, you've seen the work outs. I just don't understand why I'm not losing any weight! I got down to 148 and then it shot right back up....within a week.
Pathetic.

I've done body sculpting, cardio, weights and I don't weight anything less! I weigh the same, if not more. Someone, if you know anything about helping people loose weight, please let me know!!

I've even been so hard on myself that I only drink one glass of sweet tea - and that's only in the afternoon at lunch time! The rest of the day its water, water, water. So what I'm going to do is this - only water, milk and apple juice to drink. No caffeine, no sweet tea, no nothing. UNLESS, its after a tournament- then its okay to have something with sugar.
I can't believe I'm giving up my favorite food, but no more Mexican. The cheese is killing me!

I need to get to 130 pounds by April 11th. I have 89 days left....

-New Subject-

I talked with Amy - aka Shortcake - last night and found some comfort in what she was saying. She and I naturally fell into talking about ultimate Frisbee and my, as I'm calling it, "Freak out Fiasco" a few months back. She had some great things to say - some things that comforted me - some things that made my hairs stand up on end, but ultimately, I agreed with everything she said.
Now - the hard part - taking what she said, using it effectively and hoping that the best comes from it. I have three tryouts coming up soon - I need to be 100% on top of my game and listening to what she says - Good idea....

Body Sculpting - day 2

So I've been trying this Body Sculpting class with Mikey and it's awesome.
I'm sore in places I didn't even know I had muscles! The work outs are intense, strong and a pain the next day. It's a great work out and it's a lot of fun.
We did this thing tonight that really killed. You lay on your side and you push up on your elbow (or entire arm) and point your other hand to the sky. Much like the photo shown. I can't begin to explain how many reps we did of this, but I can tell you that they hurt like hell. I had to stop and rest a few times during the work out just because of the amount of pain in my abs. My hopes from this - to have an awesome core!

We also did a lot of squats and calf raises with the weights. It's crazy. If anyone wants to try - let me know - I have a guest pass for someone to try out this class....

I'm also leaving my FitLinxx summary, just cause' -
