Smut Peddle-People
Look, a post!
This weekend marked the first Rival Tournament of the 2006 Series. As well as the first tournament of the year for Rival, it was also the first tournament for the "newbies" and or "rookies" who have been added to this year’s roster, myself included.
This weekend’s adventure was held in
Saturday was a breeze, stomping through three teams with us winning the race to thirteen and leaving our opponents in the single digits hardly breaking 5 points. I felt like our offense was sailing smooth and our defense was rock solid and will hopefully continue to be that way throughout the season.
Saturday night I, as a newbie, was introduced into the Outback Rival Dinner. Apparently if there is an Outback nearby then that is where we eat. Needless to say, I didn't eat very much due to the three shots of whatever it was with
Sundays games were a bit more difficult. We played Caroline's team, aka "The Loop" first. It was a wake-up call compared to Saturdays games. It was the first time all weekend that we went down by a point before coming back for a win. If Caroline had the team that she thought she would have had, it would have been a different story. (Robert, Annie, Justin, McCargo all bailed on her....Robert and Annie with good reason, though).
Next up was the dreaded Jots. As a former Shotgunner, we had claimed victory over them only once before at Shawn Adams, but didn’t succeed a second time. This game was going to be tough both mentally and physically. Going down by three right off the start was a bit of a blow but we bounced back strong. We played hard as a team and it showed with our victory into the finals!
The Smut Peddle-People (Smut Peddlers) were next. A team composed of mainly current and new Chain and Ozone Players. With Frito, Chris A, Spears, Stubbs, Kate, Jenn, Kristina and others this team was by far the hardest match ups we had seen all weekend. Claiming second place after a hard game I felt was pretty damn good for our first tournament together. I felt everyone played really welgoo
That and I finally went completely horizontal....Sweet!
Happy Birthday to Mati, Wood, Erin and Lisa also!
