A thing called "weight".

At one point in your life, whether when your old or young, you will at one time feel that you are too fat, weight to much or flat out just don't look the way you want.
That time in my life is now.

Over the past year I have gone from skinny little - 127 lb Samantha to a whopping 148 fat ass - blob and I look horrible. So, I've been going to the YMCA and if you've been reading, though I doubt anyone is reading, you've seen the work outs. I just don't understand why I'm not losing any weight! I got down to 148 and then it shot right back up....within a week.
Pathetic.

I've done body sculpting, cardio, weights and I don't weight anything less! I weigh the same, if not more. Someone, if you know anything about helping people loose weight, please let me know!!

I've even been so hard on myself that I only drink one glass of sweet tea - and that's only in the afternoon at lunch time! The rest of the day its water, water, water. So what I'm going to do is this - only water, milk and apple juice to drink. No caffeine, no sweet tea, no nothing. UNLESS, its after a tournament- then its okay to have something with sugar.
I can't believe I'm giving up my favorite food, but no more Mexican. The cheese is killing me!

I need to get to 130 pounds by April 11th. I have 89 days left....

-New Subject-

I talked with Amy - aka Shortcake - last night and found some comfort in what she was saying. She and I naturally fell into talking about ultimate Frisbee and my, as I'm calling it, "Freak out Fiasco" a few months back. She had some great things to say - some things that comforted me - some things that made my hairs stand up on end, but ultimately, I agreed with everything she said.
Now - the hard part - taking what she said, using it effectively and hoping that the best comes from it. I have three tryouts coming up soon - I need to be 100% on top of my game and listening to what she says - Good idea....

Glad I could help dear! Just remember...water weight is huge. Also, you're probably building up a ton of muscle weight (as you know, muscle weighs more than fat). Trust me...i have the same concerns, but i work out a lot (i could eat better, but whatever). Muscle weight ain't so bad! I know that when i tell people how much I weigh they're surprised (which is nice...).

Hey Sam - I'm going through the similar "getting healthy and in shape" overhaul, and my best advice is going to be don't focus so much on the number on the scale, as much as how healthy you are feeling and how your clothes are starting to fit differently. If you do want to check your weight, do it at the same time of day (just after you've gotten up and before breakfast is going to be the most consistent), so you're getting the best number for comparison's sake. And finally, one of the biggest (and most painful!!) things I've had to realize is that my eating habits really were very sub-par. I've gone from cocoa puffs in the morning to honey nut cherios or raisin bran, added lots more fruits and veggies and cut out most chips, all sodas and coffee, and have cut out anything with "high fructose corn syrup" or "partially hydrogenated" vegetable oils in them (shopping in the health nut sections of the grocery store or at whole foods helps a lot!). On a positive note, sounds like you've got the whole "work out more" part down!

So I know that's a ton of advice, but it's what's working for me so far - I just hope I can keep it up when I start traveling again :) Good luck!

Wow! Thanks guys =)

Jen, I totally agree about changing the way I eat. Today for lunch I had a small salad, low fat dressing with a baked potatoe - no sour cream, only butter.

I have noticed how my clothes are fitting, which is awesome, because they are all getty baggy!

Thanks for the input, y'all!

Shortcake, I adore you =)
