Say Good-bye

As most of you know, or at least most of you should know, this past club season I played on Shotgun. For those of you who don't know, its a co-ed ultimate team formed by some Atlanta people and Alabama people.
However, this team (unfortunatley) will not exsist this up coming club season and I've finally just given up all hopes of trying to collect the pieces that could possibly unite this team again for 2006. Mainly because everyone is doing there own thing!

Top Row: McCargo, Avi, Ed, Ray, Billy, Robert, Wooley

Middle Row: Scott, Natalie, Teddy, Jeremy, Justin
Bottom Row: Emily, Annie, Stace, me, Caroline Susie
Expect Pictures everywhere throughout this post of Shotgun 2006

So latley I've be stressing out about who I am going to try and play for this fall. There has been some alk of women's ultimate, which I find myself to be very un-interested in. However I could consider it as an option for a try out, but would prefer a co-ed team. Although, the only womens team that I could even have a chance at making may not even exsit this fall, somewhat like Shotgun. The only thing is that I am kind of jaded to womens ultimate. The only experience I've had with women's ultimate has been a Birhmingham Club team where I was considered to be one of the best players on the team. Obviously that should be enough of a hint to tell you that it just wasn't a good team. However, I did have a bunch of fun!
The other womens ultimate that I have experienced has been extremley different and that was a weekend of winter women's league. I was playing with Chris, who is arguably one of the best women in Atlanta. It's different playing with her because of her style and its something that I am not used to. It's helped me to see the other side of women's ultiamte. Not to mention I had Holly out there, too. She's incredible!
So now I've come to face my biggest fear, being the "tag along." I'm going to be playing with Rival at Terminus, which I am really excited about. I'm looking forward to playing with some people that I've never played with before and I'm looking forward to learning new skills to help myself become a better player. Not to mention, I need to get myself into shape. Although what I am worried about is not fitting in with Rival and where they want me to play.
On Shotgun I was considered to be a handler, which I may add was not was I was put on that team to be. However, that's what I became and I enjoyed doing it! I liked working against a zone as a middle handler and had fun doing it. Unless, of course, we were playing Johnny on the Spot's four man trap cup with "Big Man Scary Jake" as the mark. It was totally unfair and it really sucked. Boo Big Man Scary Jake!! (Caroline, you know who I'm talkin about!) However, it's something that I am learning to work on to better myself as an ultimate player.

I just don't think I'm what teams want right now. I had to squeeze into Shotgun and they almost didn't take me last year. With Strike breaking up, or if not they wont be the Strike from last year, then most of the competitive women will go play co-ed and then I'm even more screwed.

I dont know, maybe I should just go take up soccer or something for a while.

***Im not going through and correcting spelling errors. Yes, there are a lot, but I'm tired.****

Jake isn't that scary if you pivot your knee into his balls while faking.

I thought Jake was only supposed to be scary if he's hitting on you.
